4 Benefits of Reclaimed Wood Flooring
Reclaimed wood flooring has 4 main benefits :-
1. Cost benefit - reclaimed wood flooring is generally less expensive than new hardwood flooring. Cost savings are enhanced especially when buying a large quantity of salvaged flooring.
2. Visual - reclaimed timber floors can be stunning and can enhance certain properties. Splits, knots and shakes in the board add character to the floorboard giving it a distressed look. If this aged antique look is not what you're looking for in a wooden floor then it can be sanded back to look almost new.
3. Historical - the idea of 'walking on history' can be apealing when you know where the board came from. All our reclaimed flooring is stored in separate lots depending on where they were sourced from. It may be you are buying a piece of history when you purchase a floor as it could come from a museum, hopsital or perhaps a school or university.
4. Environmental - possibly the most important benefit is the fact that the floor is being reused in a new home instead of being landfilled. It is nice to know that you are promoting the salvage of a valuable resource.

Reclaimed Hardwood Flooring
We have recently salvaged over 150m2 of Junckers Sylvasport Club beech flooring . It is 22mm thick and was subject to smoke damage. Some floorboards are marked with soot which would come off when sanded anyway. Junkers floorboards is the very best of wood floors. It would require to be denailed, relaid and thereafter sanded and sealed. Please contact us for more information.
Reclaimed wood flooring -ideas please!
We sell reclaimed hardwood flooring (lots of Junckers /Junkers) to customers throughout the UK. Our secondhand wood floors are salvaged from schools, museums, hospitals, churches and private properties. If you know of any large quantities of wood flooring that could be salvaged please get in touch. We will also be selling end of line products and job lots on this site. It is our intention when we move to our new premises to make big inroads into reducing our carbon emissions by reducing the amount of skips we send to landfill. Our plan is to offer our wood flooring cuts from our installation contracts for sale. We would palletise these and are sure that they could be used as a good hardwood floorboards albeit in shorter length boards. If you have any other ideas that we could adopt please get in touch.
