Reclaimed Flooring from Oak Whiskey Barrels

OMG, I can't believe it. I was just going through the reclaimed flooring section of the Mckay Flooring website and I realised that I hadn't written a post on the Whiskey Barrel Flooring. We covered the product on the main Mckay Flooring blog and it went national and in the sweep of that we forgot to cover it on the reclaimed flooring blog, which of course it most certainly is.

Whiskey Barrel flooring is a unique product from Mckay Flooring; our flooring specialists found a way to flatten the panels from Oak whiskey barrels and make it usable as wood flooring planks. As floors go it is absolutely incredible, in the scent as well as in the look, and we have had much interest from whiskey connoisseurs the world over.

Because of the work involved in producing such a unique product, the whiskey barrel flooring sells at £149.00 per square meter and comes in various lengths, and of course with the branding letters still intact (see below). Call 0845 602 7694 or email enquiries@mckayflooring.co.uk to place an order or find out more.

That's a brilliant idea! It must be a hell of a job getting the panels flattened well enough for flooring - how do you even do that?

Not sure the flooring would be particularly practical in somewhere like a family home though - kids and pets drunk on the aroma all the time! :)
